An Cailín Rua (The Red-haired Girl)
A traditional Irish song about a love gained and lost, adapted from the singing of Skara Brae. Thanks to Event Santa Cruz for featuring this video in New Music January 2026!



Don Oíche Úd i mBeithil (That Night in Bethlehem)
A traditional Irish Christmas carol in the Irish language, based on a variant taught to Zambra by Mary Mc Laughlin. Filmed in December 2023.


SCOTTISH


Winter Charm of Lasting Life
A traditional Scottish waulking song that would have been sung by women sitting together at a table while pounding wet wool fibers into cloth. Filmed in December 2023.


UKRAINIAN


Zeleneye zhyto, zelene (Green Rye)
Filmed in September 2024, a Ukrainian song that celebrates the harvest and coming together of family and friends. We sing this song with a sincere hope for peace.



Oy Khodyt Son Kolo Vikon (In the Grove by the Danube)
In response to the devastation of Ukraine, Zambra member Kathryn Veditz felt called to arrange this beautiful Ukrainian lullaby. Andy Zenczak, a Ukrainian-American music engineer and videographer, generously donated his time and talents to record and film Zambra performing the song in the mountains of Santa Cruz in 2022.
